About Course

Occupational Health Risk Assessment is the first step in the management of occupational Health Risk in the workplace and central in Industrial Hygiene Program to manage employee’s health risk. It is part of policy to ensure that its Employees and Contractors are protected from occupational risks that they could be exposed to. This shall be achieved through an Occupational Health Risk Management (OHRM) process, which involves hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control practices. In order to carry out an effective risk management process, it is necessary to have a clear understanding of the legal context, concepts, risk analysis, risk management, control processes and the role played by

all involved in the process. It is also required that risk management process is based on solid and tested methodologies. The course outlines the requirements of OHRM process to conduct Occupational Health Risk Assessment (OHRA) study (first part is Qualitative assessment, and second part is Quantitative assessment) to ensure that a comprehensive and structured approach in management of health risk in the workplace. The Quantitative OHRA makes use of air sampling techniques, analytical methodologies and statistical tools to ensure that the assessment is accurate, valid and meaningful.
